One system for the whole practice.

A practice runs on files, deadlines and trust. The enquiry arrives by phone, the intake is a form, the matter or engagement is a folder, the key dates are in someone's calendar and the billing is in another system. Each handover is a retype and a risk. iS3 puts the practice on one system, built around how your fee earners actually work, with the approvals and audit trail a regulated firm needs.

Where most practices are now

  1. 1

    Paper and memory

Files in cabinets, dates in a diary, and the senior partner knows everything

  2. 2

    Digitised

Case or practice management, accounts and email in place; none of it connected

  3. 3

    Joined up

Client, matter, document and billing data in one place, read by every tool

  4. 4

    Automated

Intake, conflicts, key dates and billing runs handled by rules

  5. 5

    Ai-enabled

First drafts and client updates by Ai, with a fee earner approving

Most practices we meet are at stage two: good software, bought separately, never joined up. The mapping day tells you exactly where you are, and what the next step is worth in chargeable hours.

What changes day to day

  • A new enquiry is screened, conflict-checked and booked before anyone picks up the phone, and the intake form becomes the client file without retyping.
  • Documents draft from the file, not from a blank page, and a fee earner reviews and approves before anything is sent.
  • Key dates, deadlines, renewals and review points sit in one calendar, with reminders going to the client and the file, not to one person's inbox.
  • Billing runs from time and file data, so WIP, debtors and the client account are visible without a spreadsheet, and the month-end takes an hour.

What your regulator and your clients expect

For solicitors and accountancy practices, the pressure is less about supply-chain certification and more about client confidentiality, professional responsibility, cyber risk and supervising how Ai is used.

  • The SRA warning notice on Ai

In August 2026 the SRA issued a warning notice on Ai. It covers misuse of Ai, inaccurate outputs and client confidentiality, requires appropriate human oversight, and says firms remain accountable for Ai-assisted work and can face disciplinary action. Professional responsibility does not transfer to the Ai system.

  • Client confidentiality

The notice highlights client-confidentiality risk alongside inaccurate outputs. The controls that answer it work best inside the systems the practice uses every day, such as intake, conflict checks and document creation, rather than in a policy folder.

This is a summary to explain why it matters, not legal advice. For what the rules mean for your practice, read the notice itself or ask your own adviser.

Made safe, and made to last

Confidentiality, legal privilege where it applies, and your regulator's rules are designed in, not bolted on: clear ownership, an audit trail of every action, and human approval on anything that leaves the practice, delivered in line with ISO 27001 and ISO 42001. We bring your fee earners along as we go, because a system nobody trusts is a system nobody uses.

The software you already use

Built to work with what you already use. If your software can talk to other software, and most can, we plug it in rather than replace it, and you can ask the whole system questions in plain English.

Live dashboards

One source of truth. Intake, matters, documents and billing all read and write the same record, and every action is logged.

How we work

  1. 01

Map how the practice actually runs

A day with the people who do the work: reception, the fee earners, the person who does the billing. Every process, every tool, every spreadsheet, and where the chargeable hours leak. You get the map and a prioritised list, yours to keep either way.

  2. 02

Bring the data into one place

One secure database for enquiries, clients, matters and engagements, documents, key dates and billing. Your existing tools sync into it; nothing is typed in twice. Case or practice management and accounts packages stay where they are and stop being the only place the truth lives.

  3. 03

    Automate, then add Ai

Rules take over the routine: screening and conflict checks, intake, key-date reminders, client updates, billing runs. Ai drafts first versions from the file. A fee earner approves anything that leaves the building, and every decision is logged.

Start with the mapping day. The map is yours either way.
